Zach lost his old life when his mother decided to defend the shooter. No one can possibly understand how it feels to be her. No one gets what she went through-no one saw and heard what she did. Eleven months after the school shooting that killed her twin brother, May still doesn't know why she was the only one to walk out of the band room that day. In a searing, ultimately uplifting story, debut author Alex Richards tackles a different side of the important issue that has galvanized teens across our country. Most of all, can she ever find a way to forgive herself? But no one, neither her loyal best friends nor her sweet new boyfriend, can help her forgive them. Now Johanna has to sort through it all-the return of her absentee father, her grandparents' lies, her part in her mother's death. A tragic car accident didn't kill Mandy-it was Johanna, who at two years old, accidentally shot her own mother with an unsecured gun. Then he comes back: Robert Newsome, Johanna's father, bringing memories and pictures of Mandy. maybe even stifling, since she's being raised by her grandparents who never talk about their daughter, her mother Mandy. She lost her mom in a car accident, and her father went AWOL when Johanna was just a baby. ACCIDENTAL: Johanna has had more than enough trauma in her life.

I make music, and I’ve started to put out some new music recently and you awaken that part the public facing self. And I live in Somerville, which is part of the Boston area. And it’s maybe the impulse… At a party when it’s like, “Oh, my other friend is gay too.” And then they push you together and you’re like, “Oh.” I’m a UK based artist, and I imagine that we’re talking because you live in Boston, and I’m bringing my show, Burgerz, to Boston in April. Ezra Furman ’s music and tour dates can be found here. Burgerz runs NOW – APR 24 at the Paramount. The conversation is available in full in the video or as a transcript here. On the occasion of Travis’s arrival in Boston to present Burgerz -which takes a real-life transphobic attack Travis experienced and transforms it via the show every performance-we asked them to virtually sit down with Ezra, one of Boston’s best songwriters, to talk about being an artist in 2022, how their art has changed over the course of their careers, and where Ezra will be bringing Travis for dinner while they’re here. Most recently, she provided the soundtrack for the hit Netflix show, Sex Education. In 2018, she published a book for the 33 1/3 series on Lou Reed’s Transformer, and her latest album, Twelve Nudes, was released in 2019 by the Bella Union label. Travis Alabanza in Burgerz and Ezra FurmanĮzra Furman is an internationally touring, critically lauded singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Until then, I hope you'll be satiated with the cover, description, and teaser I have. I'll have the pre-order for The Emperor of Evening Stars up in another month or so. Whoop whoop! So it won't be painfully short. I'm giving it a tentative release date of October 15, though that could always change, especially now that I'm a new parent (PSA: I had a baby at the beginning of summer, for those of you who didn't know.) :) It's essentially all written, but edits can take a while, and I'm also working on other projects at the moment (hello Dark Harmony ). įor those of you who hate novellas (*raises hand*), this one should end up being roughly 45,000 words, which is approximately 200 or so pages. You might just enjoy how the fae king saw things. I can't even tell you how excited I am to share those glimpses of Desmond's life that you haven't seen as well as several scenes you read from Callie's perspective. The Emperor of Evening Stars spans Desmond's life, beginning with his childhood and leading up to the present day. If you're interested in checking it out, you can find the first book, Rhapsodic, here. For those of you who don't know who Desmond Flynn is, he's the love interest in The Bargainer trilogy, my NA romantic fantasy series. For those of you who haven't heard, this is a novella entirely from Desmond Flynn's point of view. I've been waiting forever to finally share news on the upcoming novella in my Bargainer series, The Emperor of Evening Stars (The Bargainer #2.5). Fisher also ponders the joys and insanity of celebrity, and the absurdity of a life spawned by Hollywood royalty, only to be surpassed by her own outer-space royalty. With these excerpts from her handwritten notebooks, The Princess Diarist is Fisher’s intimate and revealing recollection of what happened on one of the most famous film sets of all time-and what developed behind the scenes. Before her passing, her fame as an author, actress, and pop-culture icon was indisputable, but in 1977, Carrie Fisher was just a teenager with an all-consuming crush on her costar, Harrison Ford. When Carrie Fisher discovered the journals she kept during the filming of the first Star Wars movie, she was astonished to see what they had preserved-plaintive love poems, unbridled musings with youthful naiveté, and a vulnerability that she barely recognized. The Princess Diarist is an intimate, hilarious, and revealing recollection of what happened behind the scenes on one of the most famous film sets of all time. This last book from beloved Hollywood icon Carrie Fisher is the crown jewel of ideal Star Wars gifts. |
